PAPER ART WORKSHOP
At the moment we are only teaching Paper Art workshops as part of the Conceptontwikkeling course by Art & the CIty.
WHat is paper art?
Welcome to the world of paper art!
Paper art is 2- of 3-dimensional art made out of paper or cardboard. Think collages, masks, abstract objects, wigs, papier mâché, light fixtures, mobiles, hats.
We can’t think of any material more versatile than PAPER! Lots of different techniques can be used, from easy cutting and pasting to intricate cut-outs.
At the very end of this page you will find a gallery with images to inspire you.
Our paper art workshops are for everyone who loves handmade and is ready to step away from the computer for a day!
No special knowledge or talent is needed.

PROGRAM // paper art workshop
We start the day with coffee and an informal presentation with background information, tons of examples, inspiring artists and more.
Next there will be a workshop featuring creative warm-up exercises, possible techniques and a tour of the available tools and materials.
The remainder of the morning you can work on your idea or concept. We are at the ready to assist you whenever you want. You can work with a specific goal in mind or decide to work intuitively to see what comes to the surface.
Lunch
After lunch the entire afternoon is yours to have fun with your idea(s) and the materials and tools available in the art studio. Busy hands, quiet mind! We are available all afternoon to be your creative guide, help you get started with materials or give feedback.
Happy hour! After a drink and a snack we’ll send you relaxed and refreshed into the weekend.
Please let us know if there is a specific technique you are hoping to learn. If we don’t already know it, we will research the technique or invite an expert.
RESULT
You will leave the studio with one of more pieces of paper art. Maybe your paper art is a beginning study of a technique or subject, perhaps it is ready to be enjoyed as is, or you can incorporate your handmade work into a digital project.
We hope you will be inspired to make stuff by hand whenever you can. You may never look at a cardboard box the same way again.
And, most likely, you will go home with boosted creative confidence!

Paper has a special place in our hearts! It comes in so many colors and textures and you can make basically anything out of paper. It is the one material we miss most when spending long days glued to our computer screens.
Recently Cobo&Co founder Heidi Smets created 8 pages of paper art for a vtwonen magazine production. What a way to reimagine paper and be inspired to share the possibilities with you.
Heidi will help you with different techniques so you can make your paper dreams come true. :)
